Hi, and welcome to the insanity known as my life!
Well, let's see....
I'm 33, Male and I'm from England. I'd like to think I'm a nice friendly kinda guy. I enjoy movies, sports, TV, relaxing, having a good time and computers. I work as an IT Service Desk Analyst for an outsourcing IT services company, and spend way too much time messing around with computers - I'm usually the one called upon if anything goes wrong with them, and I've helped both friends and family with any of their computer problems!
I'm married to
Nic, and we got married in November 2002.
We live in a 3 bedroom house just outside Northampton with our little Yorkshire Terrier, Benny.
This journal is friends only, and finally, this journal is a drama free zone, and I'd like to keep it that way - so please don't bring any here, thank you!

I'm sticking my head above the parapet for once, as there's something that needs to be said.
I've always tried, ever since I've been online, to be a good friend to people, and for the most part, I think I've succeeded.
However, there have been 3 events in the last few months, with 3 different people, that's made me question exactly how people see 'me' as a person.
I think I'm a good person, yeah, I have faults, but, hey, no one is perfect.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is, if I've ever done anything wrong with anyone, whatever it is, then it's not been done with any harm intended.
I've never filtered any posts that I've made that people on my friends list on here can't see, and I'm not about to start now, as I firmly believe that I have nothing to hide, and that if I've trusted people enough to read my entries, then I shouldn't 'hide' anything.
Is it too much to expect the same from people on my friends list? I don't think so, but on 3 separate occasions in the last 6 months, it's happened to me, and I'm mystified to know what I ever did wrong to the 3 people concerned.
If anyone's read this far, then thank you for listening.
I'm seriously considering taking an extended break from LJ again, as I have had enough of people doubting my intentions.
That's all for now.
Ian

Just a quick post to say happy birthday to
webkin as it's her birthday today.
Today's been good, we've gone to Nic's parents for the day, and had a game of Ten Pin bowling at Newmarket, which was all good fun, I was last, as usual, but we all enjoyed ourselves, which is the main thing.
Gonna be heading back home soon, so I'll finish up here.
More soon,
Ian (vj)

Well, it's Monday, the start of another week at work.
The weekend's been good, so hopefully this week will continue in the same vein, I'm hoping it won't be too busy, but, I'll just haveta wait and see.
Thank you to everyone who's done my poll that I posted in my last post, it's interesting to see just how much people think their journal reveals about them.
Before I go, I'd like to wish a happy birthday to
apb who's birthday it is today, hope you have a brilliant day.
And that, as they say, is all for now.
More soon,
Ian (vj)

Well, I haven't updated in a few days, and a fair bit has happened.
On Friday, we all got our pay review letters, as everyone was individually called into the office to get them - quite a lot came out screwing the letters up and generally not being happy (as they either hadn't got a raise, or didn't get as much as they hoped).
I was one of the last to get called in, so I wondered what news my letter would bring, and luckily, it was good news, as I got a 6% pay rise, which works out as an £800 increase for the year. so as you can probably guess, I was more than happy with that!
The even better news is, there's a good chance that I may get a bonus in June, so if I do, I'll be very happy, but until it happens, I remain cautious.
In the evening, Nic and I went to Tesco's in Northampton to get the weekly shopping, and we also got a bottle of Vanilla Coca-Cola to try, must admit, it was very nice!
Today we've been down my parents, as it's my sister's 26th birthday today (Sunday, as it is now) where we watched the football and the Grand National (for those not in the UK, the Grand National is a very famous horse race), and my mum managed to pick the winner :)
Mum also bought us a coffee table for our front room via an auction channel on the TV, was pretty cheap too, at only £21 (was valued at around £130), and we also got given a towel rail for our bathroom.
We've got Nic's mum, dad and sister coming here later too, so that promises to be a good day also.
All in all, it's been a good weekend up to this point!
Anyway, that's all from me, more soon.

Well today's been a pretty good day, following an eventful evening last night.
Basically, last night we ordered a pizza from Dominos Pizza around 9pm, and normally, it gets here about 30 mins later - an hour went past, and still no pizza. Nic then phoned them up and the guy explained that they had only *just* received the order (as we'd ordered them online), so as compensation, they agreed to reduce the cost and give us a free garlic pizza bread, so we thought, okay, it's gonna be here by 10.30.... 11pm comes around.. still no pizza. Nic rang up again, and was told that the driver was on his way (he'd left 15 mins before). Then, literally 5 minutes later we get a phone call back from Dominos - the driver had been assaulted by a group of lads prior to making our delivery, so he'd taken the pizzas back to the shop. So, by way of compensation, they made a fresh order out to us, including the extra garlic bread pizza, and delivered it tonight free of charge, so that was a bit of a result.
Work was pretty good today, in spite of the fact we were two people down due to sickness, but we coped, which was the main thing, even so though, I was glad when 5 o'clock came around so I could get home.
Tonight I've watched the football on TV, and had a bath, so I'm nice and refreshed ready for going back to work in the morning.
Also, happy birthday to
jeweleee hope you've had a good day.
Before I go though, I figured I haven't posted a pic of me in my LJ for a bit, so after the cut, is a pic of me taken from my web cam a little while ago:-

Gah,
It's too damn early!
Oh well, morning everyone, hope everyone's doing OK?
As for myself, well, I'm fine, work yesterday went pretty well, as it wasn't too busy, and the weekend was very good, as well as being a nice break for us both. The last few weekends actually have been nice, as we've always done at least something over the weekend, as opposed to saying here all weekend. We've even got this weekend coming up planned out all ready too (us, organised - yeah!). Basically we're going to my mum's on Saturday, as it's my sisters birthday on Sunday, and on Sunday itself, Nic's parents are coming here, as Nic's dad wants to watch something on the TV, namely, his football team playing in a cup final - and as it's only being shown on Sky, which they don't have, they're coming here to watch it.
Other than that, last night was nice and relaxing, we did all our jobs, with Nic doing the rubbish bags ready for the bin collection today, and me doing the washing up, and we watched a bit of TV ( Monday night is definitely Nic's night - 2 hours solid of soaps!) before coming on the PC's for a bit.
Anyway, that's enough of my ramblings for now, best carry on getting ready for work.
More soon,

Well hey ho everyone.
You'll be pleased to hear that I'm feeling a little better today, I've spent most of today relaxing as I've been off work again. I spoke to my mum last night and she reckons there's a bug going round at the moment, so I reckon that's what's done it - tho I've now had it 2 weeks running, which is a little worrying.
I've been trying today to comment on peoples entries on LJ - thing is tho, I never know what to say, I mean, I do read all the entries on my friends page, but, I dunno, I always feel that unless I've got something to say, then I don't comment.
I know you should never base your friends list on here by how many comments you get, but I'll admit it's nice sometimes to get a comment every once in a while from people so that you know that they are reading what you say.
Tomorrow Nic and I are off to Nic's mum's for a Mother's day thing as Nic's Uncle, cousin, nan and Tom are going, and then on Sunday, we're going to a Charity celebrity football match in Cambridge - the information being HERE so that should be a good laugh :)
Anyway, that's all for now, more soon.

I've been feeling mainly crappy....
I woke up this morning with an utterly blinding headache - it was so bad that it was making me dizzy so I made an immediate decision not to travel down to work today, as my big fear was having an accident on the way down (and on a 42 mile journey to work I have every morning - I wasn't risking it) so I've been in bed most of the day.
Both of our mothers received their mothers day flowers this morning that Nic ordered earlier in the week, OK they've got them early, but at least they've got them, and we've been told that the bunch of flowers they got was huge enough to fit in 2 vases! But, seeing as it's down to their love and support that Nic and I find ourselves in this house, we figured that it was about time we did something back to say thank you.
Anyway, I just plan to relax tonight and see how I feel in the morning with regards going into work, if I still feel rough, then I'm not gonna go in.

Well last night was enormous fun!
Nic and I were talking to the ever wonderful Andrea (
expressomaniac) on Yahoo with our webcams on, where we were having our usual nightly (or morning in Andrea's case) chat, when my chair suddenly gave way from underneath me, tipping me on the floor - must admit it hurt at the time, but both Nic and Andrea were laughing their heads off over it, but luckily, I'm now using my new office chair at my PC desk now, so it's not too bad. We all had a good laugh during the evening with our chat, with Andrea at several stages going into fits of laughter because we were all messing about so much.
I'm off to work soon (in about 20 minutes), so here's hoping today will be a good day for me *fingers crossed*
Hope everyone else who reads this is doing just fine too.
